Game Update:
Twinora v0.6.0

This major update to Twinora, in preparation for Comic Con For Kids 2019, features a completely new Party system with full support for character switching as the party leader, major improvements to overall balance of the game, and almost two dozen bugfixes!

Update Notes

New Content

  • Clay is now the default party leader when starting a new game.
  • You can now switch between characters, and lead the party by playing as any of your teammates.
  • You now start the game with 20 coins, 1 HP Potion, and 1 MP Potion in your inventory.
  • You can now sell items at shops.
  • The save point at camp now regenerates the party's HP and MP.
  • The following dungeons have been rebalanced, including enemies, spawns, and level requirements:
    • [Lv. 1] Beach Path
    • [Lv. 6] Upper Seaside Dunes
    • [Lv. 10] Forest Labyrinth
  • Added new UIMenu Icons in the HUD, for the following:
    • [I] Item Inventory Window
    • [E] Character Equipment Window
    • [ESC] Game Settings Window
  • Money, ladders, and treasure chests have been added to the Dungeon Minimap.
  • Added the map of Twinora to the Dungeon Select Screen, which now animates and shows you what dungeon you are visiting.
  • A large number of props and objects have been placed around Audreyn and Jakob's spots at camp.

Additional Updates

  • Mark's base damage has been increased to 2 ~ 3 to match Clay's base damage.
  • NPCs now have a talking animation when you talk to them.
  • The camera at camp has been improved to allow it to be partially behind objects that don't completely block the view.
  • Attacks in dungeons have been made faster so the game can be more responsive.
  • All party members now have an ally ring below them in dungeons, to show that they are your friends.
  • Added commas in between numbers for displaying money anywhere in-game.
  • Dialogue interaction options have been moved from its own window into the Dialogue UI with the rest of the text.
  • Grass has been added around camp.
  • Added a slight transparency to the game console, so you can see enemies easier in dungeons when they are below you.
  • When the player dies in a dungeon, they are now brought back to the last save point (if any).
  • The camera interpolation is now faster, to avoid moving for too long after direct player input.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where the player could not enter any dungeon after loading game save data.
  • Your party members no longer drop all of your money on the floor when they get defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where you could use (and consume) items that were not consumables nor weapons (like Star Stones).

  • The +HP and +MP hitsplats no longer overlap each other.
  • Lighting in dungeons has been fixed to no longer be too bright near the party members.
  • Fixed an issue where switching items in shops would list incorrect prices.

  • Fixed several issues with pressing ESC and the cursor. The cursor is now kept in the game more consistently.
  • Fixed an issue where loading item inventories would fail to clear them first, resulting in duplicate items.
  • Empty item slots in the Item Inventory Window can no longer be clicked.
  • Ladders placed in (originally) wall tiles can now be properly walked on.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could no longer interact with anything after returning to camp from a dungeon.
  • Coins in the dungeon no longer spawn in stationary, unwalkable grid objects.
  • Game settings are now saved globalled (not specific to 1 game save file).
  • The Dialogue UI no longer keeps fading in and out when being set active if it was already active.
  • The HP Bar in the HUD is no longer left in the wrong state after it finishes low-flashing.
  • Enemies that are within-range are now properly shown on the dungeon minimap with correct coordinates.
  • Fixed an issue where the cursor would automatically move to the bottom-left of the screen at the start of the game.
  • Fixed NullReferenceException thrown by grid ladders when leaving the dungeon.
  • Fixed an issue where the dungeon minimap would incorrectly update after moving between dungeon floors of different sizes.
  • Fixed an issue where hitsplats' font textures were not being regenerated, and would appear invisible.
